The 3rd Annual Milwaukee Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk was a huge success!
Notable Numbers
- 55+ Walkers and Runners
- 6 Walk Teams
- over $7,200 raised
Brandi Wright organized the 3rd Annual Milwaukee Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk. Brandi is an aplastic anemia survivor, and she was inspired to organize this walk to raise awareness in the Milwaukee community.
Both the Alverno College and Concordia University Wisconsin nursing students were an integral part of the walk committee. Without their help and volunteer assistance, this walk would not be possible.
The day of the walk was a beautiful spring day along the shores of Lake Michigan!. After registration and pictures, the walkers began walking. Nearly 50 walkers, many of them on one of the six walk teams, strolled along the scenic shoreline of Lake Michigan and the Concordia University Wisconsin campus grounds. It was a beautiful venue for a walk! Along the walk route, signs were posted which provided information about bone marrow failure disease and AA&MDSIF.
After the walk, light refreshments were served and
patients and families could bid on fun silent auction items. It was a
wonderful day of spreading awareness for bone marrow failure disease,
raising money for the programs and services of AA&MDSIF to benefit
patients and families, and connecting with others. And over $7,200 was
raised through this event!
Thank you to our
walk chair Brandi Wright who worked tirelessly on organizing a
tremendously successful event! Thank you to the all the nursing
students for their support of the walk. And thank you to the patients,
families, and friends of AA&MDSIF who walked together for Hope,
Steps & A Cure!
