AAMDSIF Research Grants
Since 1989, AAMDSIF has supported innovative research into the causes of bone marrow failure bone marrow failure: A condition that occurs when the bone marrow stops making enough healthy blood cells. The most common of these rare diseases are aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). Here you’ll find information about the Bone Marrow Failure Research Program of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program, which supports investigators studying the prevention, causes, and treatment of bone marrow failure diseases. AAMDSIF has been the lead patient organization advocating for funding this program since 2008.
