Dr. M. Sitki Copur is a nationally known medical oncologist. He is an adjunct faculty professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine Division of Hematology/Oncology. He graduated from medical school at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. He served an Internal Medicine Residency, also in Turkey, before completing an internship and residency, both at Chicago Medical School in Chicago. Ehab Atallah, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Section Head of hematological malignancies in the Medical College of Wisconsin Division of Hematology and Oncology, specializing in leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes at Froedtert Hospital. He graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1994, then completed an internal medicine residency in the Cleveland Clinic Health System and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, Michigan, where he also served as Chief Fellow. He then went on to complete a leukemia fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center

Dr. Erba entered medical school for the sole purpose of learning more about human diseases, so that he could focus his laboratory efforts on improving the human condition. However, he was surprised to find himself drawn to clinical care. He cares for people afflicted by acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and myeloproliferative neoplasms. In this role, Dr. Erba has had the privilege of treating people facing life-threatening illnesses. Dr. DiNardo is a clinical researcher with a specialized focus on prognostication and personalized therapeutics for patients with myeloid malignancies. She has completed formal training in epidemiology and biostatistics, with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology obtained in June 2012. Her thesis involved an analysis of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutations, serum 2-hydroxyglutarate (2HG) levels, and patient outcomes in AML, performed in collaboration with the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG). My research interest is focused on the development of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of hematological malignancies. Towards this aim, I am serving in three different leadership positions: 1) I am the director of the UNM Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy Program, which has brought autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant technology to New Mexico, with the intent of introducing allogeneic stem cell transplant and both CAR-T therapy in the near future.
