Xiaoyi Chen, MD, PhD

Dr. Chen is currently with the Rutgers Cancer Institute, the only NCI-designated cancer center in the state, where cutting-edge cancer research is conducted and state-of-the-art cancer care is delivered.

Her interest in hematological malignancies started in medical school, driving her to pursue research in this field. After graduating from West China Medical School, she joined the University of Cincinnati’s Cancer and Cell Biology program, where her primary research focused on targeting autophagy in acute leukemia and earned my PhD. Following this, she completed her internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Jacobi Medical center. Then completed my fellowship training at New York University, where she continued to specialize in hematological malignancies and actively engaged in clinical research clinical research: A type of research that involves individual persons or a group of people. Dr. Chen is excited to extend her passion for leukemia care at Rutgers. Also Dr. Chen is committed to patient-centered care, recognizing that each patient is a unique individual with their own values, experiences, and goals. In practice, she aim to foster a compassionate and collaborative relationship with each patient, making sure their preference and concerns are central to the decision-making process. Dr. Chen's extensive training experience allow her to stay updated with the rapidly evolving field of hematological malignancies and offer guidance informed by the latest medical advancements. My goal is to provide my patients with optimized care that aligns with their individual objectives.
