Dr Deauna-Limayo received her medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Kansas.
After fellowship, she stayed on at the University of Kansas as a teaching faculty for 18 years. She was an Associate Professor in Internal Medicine, the Director of the Lymphoma and Myeloma programs, and the chairperson for the Education Committee for Cancer Programs. She now works at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System and is passionate about patient and trainee education, as well as conducting research in hematologic cancers.
