Dr. Rajni Agarwal is a board-certified pediatrician and internationally recognized expert in pediatric blood and marrow transplantation, cell and gene therapy, and pediatric hematology-oncology. She is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Stem Cell Transplantation at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she also serves as Clinical Director and Section Chief of the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplantation Program. She is a member of the Stanford Cancer Institute.

Dr. Agarwal completed her pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and received her medical degree and pediatric training from MGM Medical College and Indore University in India. She brings over two decades of clinical leadership and innovation to the field, with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for children undergoing transplant and gene therapies. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Distinguished Service Award from Stanford Children’s Health and the Fanconi Anemia: A rare inherited disorder that happens when the bone marrow does not make enough blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets). Fanconi anemia is diagnosed early in life. People with Fanconi anemia have a high likelihood of developing cancer. Genetic testing is used to diagnose Fanconi anemia. Appreciation Award. She is also actively engaged in international and community outreach, supporting donor recruitment efforts and programs focused on cord blood research.
