Laura Better, J.D.

As an Adjunct Professor for Mount St. Mary’s University, Laura teaches both accelerated undergraduate and Masters of Business Administration courses in the Masters of Healthcare Administration Program. During the past 23 years, she has also worked for State Farm Insurance. For approximately a decade of that time she was a Securities Principal, which entails supervising agent’s procedural and regulatory compliance for variable funds, mutual funds and variable products. She became passionate about dealing with the financial issues surrounding cancer when she became a patient three years ago. While on her journey to recovery she decided that she would do whatever she could to help others with these issues. She is a member of the Bar in MD and DC, having earned her J.D. (law degree) from Western New England College School of Law. She also her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Denver and an A.A.S. in Paralegal Technology from Brookdale Community College.
