Debby Berlyne, PhD, is a freelance writer and editor with more than 25 years of experience. She currently writes and edits reports, journal manuscripts, ad board summaries, peer-review summary statements, Web content, and patient education materials, primarily in the medical field. She has worked on documents in such diverse medical fields as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, epidemiology, health services research, hematologic disease, mental illness, organ transplant, nutrition, and substance abuse. Debby has also written reports and summaries of meetings on education-related topics, including child and adolescent development research and standardized test development. In addition, her experience includes preparing reports and newsletters on government management issues, including the quarterly Ideas in Action, which summarized innovative strategies developed by local government agencies. Her clients are federal government agencies (including many institutes and centers of the National Institutes of Health, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality), nonprofit organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and medical professional societies.
