The majority of group members had other plans and where unable to attend the event; but, three aplastic anemia patients and one caregiver (spouse) climbed 1,686' to the top of the mountain! Organizer Lorenzo WIlliams reports, "We did it for to two reasons, to bring awareness to bone marrow failure bone marrow failure: A condition that occurs when the bone marrow stops making enough healthy blood cells. The most common of these rare diseases are aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).
