The Atlanta Community of Hope held their first Aplastic Anemia and MDS Awareness Week event on Saturday March 7th at St. Mt. Park in Stone
Mountain, Ga.
The majority of group members had other plans and where unable to attend the event; but, three aplastic anemia patients and one caregiver (spouse) climbed 1,686' to the top of the mountain! Organizer Lorenzo WIlliams reports, "We did it for to two reasons, to bring awareness to bone marrow failure and to prove we could do it!"
"Our goal for 2016 is to return to the mountain with more survivors and to raise funds for bone marrow research."
