Indianapolis Hope, Steps & A Cure
The Inaugural Indianapolis Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk was a huge success!
The first-ever Hope, Steps & a Cure Walk was held in Indianapolis in conjunction with the AA&MDSIF Patient and Family conference.
Following an educational day of conference sessions, patients and families enjoyed the opportunity to socialize outside of the hotel in the fresh air as they walked for Hope, Steps & A Cure. The walk began in downtown Indianapolis at the conference hotel.

Following the walk, patients and families enjoyed a picnic dinner. The program also included remarks from AA&MDSIF board members and staff and a fun evening of celebrating and dancing.
Everyone who attended enjoyed connecting, relaxing and sharing with fellow patients and families. It was a wonderful day of spreading awareness for bone marrow failure disease and of hope and celebration!

As one participant noted, "The sea of 200 bright red t-shirts drew attention as we weaved our way through downtown. At times it literally looked like blood flowing through the veins of the city."
Another participant said, "It drew a ton of attention. It was a great celebration of life – spiritual and uplifting. It was great seeing everybody having fun and being happy, despite our daily struggles with these diseases."
