Winter, Wisconsin Hope, Steps & A Cure: September 10, 2011
The Winter, Wisconsin Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk was a huge success!
There were 26 registered walkers, and over $3,400 was raised from this event!
It was a beautiful, sunny fall day in the woods of northern Wisconsin on the day of the walk!
After the walkers checked in at the Flambeau Forest Inn, they assembled for a group picture. Walkers wore red Hope, Steps & A Cure shirts. The seven mile hike was on a nicely paved road and ATV path. Along the walk route, signs were posted which provided information about bone marrow failure disease and AA&MDSIF. The scenic, northern woods area of Wisconsin was a perfect setting for this great awareness walk!.
After the walk and later in the day, everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Flambeau Forest Inn as they celebrated their successful day. Music, dancing, and raffles completed the evening’s festivities.
It was a wonderful day of spreading awareness for bone marrow failure disease, raising money for the programs and services of AA&MDSIF to benefit patients and families, and connecting with others..

Following
the walk, patients, families and friends enjoyed a
light lunch, seated massages, a birthday celebration, and a balloon
release. They especially enjoyed connecting,
relaxing and sharing with fellow patients and families. It was a wonderful day of spreading awareness for bone marrow
failure disease and of hope and celebration!
Thank you to our walk committee Robin Grapa and Patty Laatsch who worked tirelessly on organizing a tremendously successful event! Thank you to the family and friends of Robin Grapa and AA&MDSIF who walked together for Hope, Steps & A Cure!
