Travel Information

By car:

If you drive to the hotel, parking is available at the hotel at the rate of $6/hour or $19/day. Valet parking is also available for $25/day.

By train:

The nearest Amtrak station is Union Station in Washington, DC

From Union Station, you can get to the hotel by cab (about $15 to $20 for one passenger) or by Metro .  To go via Metro, take the Red Line from Union Station two stops to Gallery Place-Chinatown and transfer to the Yellow Line on the level below the Red Line.  Take a Yellow Line train to Crystal City, the fifth stop.  The non-rush hour fare on the weekend will be $1.35/person, and the trip should take less than 45 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for a train.  After passing through the farecard reader and exiting the Metro at the Crystal City stop, take the escalator up one level to the Crystal City Underground.  When you reach the top of that first escalator, turn to the right and go through the glass doors.  From there follow the signs to the Marriott; it is approximately a five-minute walk.

By air:

The closest airport to the conference hotel is Washington National , although flights to National tend to be but are not always more expensive than flights to Dulles Airport or Baltimore-Washington International Airport .  A shuttle to the hotel is available from National Airport.

There are a few ways to get to the conference hotel from Dulles.  A taxi is approximately $45 plus tip, or you can take a shuttle to the hotel at the rate of $26.  Additional members of your party are another $10.00/person.  Finally, you can take a shuttle bus from Dulles to the West Falls Church Metro station for $9/person one way or $16/person round trip. (The bus ride takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.)  Once you get on the Metro, take the train towards New Carrollton six stops to the Rosslyn station.  At Rosslyn, you need to transfer to a Blue Line train going towards Franconia/Springfield; take an escalator or elevator to the trains on the lower level.  You will take a Blue Line train three stops to Crystal City.  The non-rush hour fare on the weekend will be $1.85/person, and the trip should take less than 45 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for a train.

There are also a few ways to get to the conference hotel from BWI Airport.  A taxi is approximately $90 for one passenger plus tip, or you can take a shuttle to the hotel at the rate of $44/person.  Additional members of your party are another $10.00/person.

You can take an express Metrobus from BWI Airport to the Greenbelt Metro station for $3.10/person. (The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic.)  Once you get to the Greenbelt station, take a train towards Branch Avenue twelve stops to the L'Enfant Plaza station.  At the L'Enfant Plaza station, you need to transfer to a Yellow Line train going towards Huntington; that train will arrive on the same platform as the Green Line train does, so you do not need to change platforms.  Once you get onto a Yellow Line train, take it three stops to Crystal City.  The non-rush hour fare on the weekend will be $2.35/person, and the trip should take less than 60 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for a train.

Finally, if you are arriving on a weekday, you can take a MARC train (specifically, a Penn Line train) from BWI Airport Rail Station to Union Station in Washington, DC for $6 one way.  You can also take an Amtrak train  any day of the week, but the fare of $17 to $23 is higher, and train reservations are required.

To get to the BWI Airport Rail station from the airport, take the free shuttle (signs are posted outside the terminal for the BWI Rail shuttle) to the train station, about a ten to fifteen-minute ride.  You can purchase your ticket at the station; onboard the fare is usually higher.

Once you arrive at Union Station, you can get to the hotel by cab (about $15 to $20 for one passenger) or by Metro.
