Join the Peer Support Network

(Previously the Global Support Network)

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can seriously help another without helping himself."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thank you for your interest in helping other patients and their families by joining our Peer Support Network!  Because bone marrow diseases are rare, it is often difficult to get in touch with other patients. The support that you provide others just through a few conversations is invaluable and truly beneficial.

The AA&MDSIF Peer Support Network are patients and family members who talk with other families about their treatment experiences and the emotional aspects of coping with aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).  These volunteers are all ages, from all walks of life, from neighborhoods all over the world.

By becoming a volunteer, you welcome the chance to network with other patients, spouses, family members, and their loved ones.  You will help others to gather information, resolve special issues, receive emotional support, and to make friends.  The Peer Support Network is a free service offered by AA&MDSIF and we appreciate your participation in our program.

To become a volunteer:

We are currently updating our Peer Support Network application process and are not taking new volunteer applications at this time. We expect to begin taking new applications in April of 2009. If you are interested in being notified when we begin taking new applications please email us and we will let you know when new applications are available. If you have any questions about the Peer Support Network you can contact Leigh Clark at 800.747.2820.

Thank you so much for your interest.
