Patient and Family Conferences

In 2009, AA&MDSIF will hold a national Patient & Family Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana July 10 - 12 and 3 regional one-day MDS conferences around the country, gathering hundreds of patients and their families together with a selection of the world's most distinguished medical researchers in bone marrow failure disease. 

National Conference 

You will have the opportunity to hear directly from these experts about the latest in medical research, clinical trails, and treatment options.  In addition to hearing medical presentations, attendees have the opportunity to meet other patients and families in specially designed workshops allowing everyone the opportunity to connect with one another and share, not only knowledge, but concerns and questions.

2009 One-Day MDS Conferences

By attending a one-day regional conference, you will receive up-to-date information on the diagnosis and treatment of MDS from experienced medical experts. We strongly encourage you to attend if you or your loved one has been diagnosed with MDS within the last few years.

These FREE one-day MDS conferences for patients and their family members are collaborative efforts between the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AA&MDSIF) and distinguished  medical facilities in the U.S. Participants will learn the latest on the diagnosis and treatment of MDS from leading experts in the field. Sessions on how to optimize your physical and mental health before, during and after treatment will be included. Patients will have plenty of time to ask questions of the experts. At the conclusion of this one-day MDS conference, you can expect to  have a better understanding of: 

• Diagnostic tests and procedures an MDS patient may undergo
• Treatment options currently available to patients with MDS
• The things you or your loved one can do to help maintain a healthy body and healthy mind during all phases of the illness
• How to be better prepared to talk to your doctor about MDS and its treatment
