Find an Expert
Aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria are rare diseases that require expertise in their diagnosis and treatment. A
hematologist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the blood and
bone marrow.
You can locate a hematologist who is an expert by contacting a hospital affiliated with a medical university. Generally, the doctors at teaching hospitals are both researchers and clinicians. They are more familiar with standard and investigational treatments for rare diseases. Ask for the Hematology Department and request an appointment with a hematologist who is an expert in your disease.
