Talk to a hematologist who is an expert in bone marrow diseases. Nurses and physician-assistants are also excellent sources of information.
Don't be afraid to ask questions and express your concerns. Ask for clarification if you don't understand medical terminology.
Talk to other patients and informed families.
Gain knowledge through articles, books, or brochures and always discuss what you learned with your doctor. Each patient is unique, and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another.
