AA&MDSIF is pleased to help researchers advance the understanding and treatment of aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). For more than twenty years, the AA&MDSIF has provided financial support to research that leads to new insights into the causes of bone marrow failure and the development of new therapeutic approaches.
Each year the AA&MDSIF invites researchers to apply for two-year grants of $30,000 per year to test new ideas and to explore other research leads. The applications are ranked according to merit by a distinguished panel of research scientists and funded by the generosity of families and patients.
Established investigators and new investigators in bone marrow disease can apply for the awards. Second-year funding is contingent upon progress in the first year.
The application period for 2010 Research Grants is now closed. Watch for an announcement of the 2010 grant recipients in June. Payments to researchers who receive awards will begin July 1, 2010.
